George Matzen House
From the House Beautiful photo shoot, these photos come from the University of Washington archives. We used this photo to recreate the dining room hutch. The center section below the window we found in the basement. There were only four original sconces on the walls. We recreated them to fill out the house.

The living room shortly after completion in 1911. The original ceiling sconce is no longer there. The built in window seating on the right encloses one of the radiators. On the left it was removed at some point. Using this photo and the existing built in it was re-created. The brick is the horizontal brick found in many of the Frank lloyd Wright houses.

Original Stair lamp is in good shape and in place.

We use these photos to rebuild the porch front wall and planter box and removing the pillar to pillar, floor to ceiling picture window.The fence and planters were gone and we recreated it based on the photos.

The owner bought two lots so that there was room to the West. You can see the porch as it was originally.
